Education: Rob received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1972, his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1974, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California in 1977.

Rob graduated with honors from college and graduate business school, and in law school he was a member and an editor of the Southern California Law Review.

In 2007, Los Angeles Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine awarded Rob “Super Lawyer” of Southern California.

Occupational History: Rob began his legal career in 1977, as an associate of Alschuler, Grossman & Pines. On January 1, 1984 he became a partner in the firm and remained so until December 31, 1986 when he left to form the law firm of Owens and Gach Ray. Rob is a masterful trial lawyer. He has tried cases before juries, judges, arbitrators, and judicial reference officers. He has successfully taken cases up through the appellate process. Rob litigates comfortably in both State and Federal Courts.

In addition, since 1997 through 2004, Rob was President and Chief Executive Officer of a Minor League Baseball team. In the 1997 through the 2000 baseball season the team was known as the Helena Brewers, and it was a Rookie-Advanced level farm team of the Milwaukee Brewers. In the 2001 through the 2004 baseball season, the team was known as the Provo Angels, and it was a Rookie-Advanced level farm team of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. For 8 years, Rob was actively involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the baseball team while also actively engaged in the practice of law.

Community/Charitable Involvement: Rob was President of the School Site Council for Marquez Charter Elementary School for three years, and for two years was President of the Friends of Marquez, which is the non-profit fundraising organization that raised money to improve the quality of education at the school. Rob also served as the President of the Palisades-Malibu YMCA Swim Team Parents' Association for three years, and as a member of the Board of Managers of Palisades-Malibu YMCA. Additionally, Rob has served on the Executive Committee of The Pioneer Baseball League's Board of Directors, and the Finance Committee of a minor league baseball team in the California League. Rob has also been active in supporting Stop Cancer and the Mitchell E. Gordon Memorial Fund for Southern California Special Olympics.
